Anne-Mie Melis, one of the lead artists on the project, has developed a ‘NATURponty font’ working with young people attending workshops at Youth Clubs in Rhydyfelin and Cilfynydd.  The free font may be downloaded and used to type with on your computer.

Happy Writing!

The alphabet has been developed with young people attending workshops at Ilan Youth Club at Rhydyfelin (YEPS) and the Youth Group at Cilfynyd Community Centre. In the process they used oak gall ink and natural specimens to create letters. The first image below lists the specimens that were used to make the letters. The alphabet has been distilled from this process. Some of the text in the images has been written with the NATURponty alphabet.

For the Pontypridd is a Nature Reserve project we also used the alphabet in the process of generating the NATURponty Youth Manifesto.

Thanks so much to the young people who took part in the workshops:
Harley, Talia, Syd, Ruby, Georgia, Olivia, Callie, Chloe, Brooke, Leah, Connor, Kenza, Cian, Jayden and Elin.

Thanks also to our intern Rhi Barber and Roger Lougher.

The NATURponty Alphabet Rubber Stamp Set

From the NATURponty font we developed the NATURponty alphabet rubber stamp set to be used in workshops to create your own message about and for nature. The rubber stamp set was produced by FabLab Cardiff (www.fablabcardiff.com)
